Anchor Tugs Ltd, based in South Shields, was a key player in Tyne & Wear’s maritime industry. Operating from the mid-20th century, they provided towage, salvage, and harbour services across the North East coast.

Their fleet included iconic vessels like Anchor Tug Fulwell, Dunelm, and Robert Redhead, often seen assisting ships in and out of the River Tyne. Known for reliability and strength, Anchor Tugs supported both commercial and naval operations.

Though no longer active, their legacy lives on in local archives and maritime history collections.
