Founded in the 1930s, Bitulac Ltd operated from Collingwood Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, producing bitumen-based products, industrial paints, and preservatives. Known for brands like “Bitulac” Paints, “Ceasrot” Wood Preservative, and “Krustalite” Boiler Decrustant, the company served the marine, construction, and engineering sectors.

Bitulac also patented innovations like lagging for thermal insulation and deck surfacing materials (e.g. Bituladeck), used in shipbuilding and industrial applications. Active through the mid-20th century, its legacy lives on in archives and patents.
